Dans un accès de jalousie, Carlton Layton tue sa femme et son amant, non sans d'abord mettre son costume de clown qu'il porte lorsqu'il travaille avec des enfants, puis disparait. Cinq ans plus tard, Carley garde un enfant pendant Halloween lorsqu'un clown veut kidnapper le petit. Carlton Layton finds his wife in the arms of another man, put on the outfit he wears as a children's entertainer and slaughters them both and disappears. Five years later, Carley Lewis babysit on Halloween. But someone wants the child. Someone known only as 'the Cleaver'.
