A shapeshifting alien scout called a Rutan arrives on Earth intending to use the planet as a strategic base in the Rutans' war against the Sontarans. First seen in serial one of the 15th season: Horror of Fang Rock in 1977. Also seen in many Doctor Who books, comics, audio and videogame.
